Step 1 towards a healthy voice, yay!

VODY = VOICE/BODY

VODY stands for voice-body connection.

Often we learn about our mind-body connection, our spirit-body connection, our muscle-mind connection and how it all helps our productivity in daily practices. but we don’t often talk about the power behind the tool we all use everyday. Our voice! Throughout 15 years of performing professionally as a vocalist, my voice has been tested. And believe me, I have failed, but that’s how I grew. Just like anything else in life. I learnt through experiences, but also through educating myself in not only my field performance, but in multiple areas of health and wellness. I started studying and teaching Yoga. I took Nutrition courses and dove into the culinary world. And challenged myself physically to adapt the best fitness program to maintain strength, consistency and longevity for my voice.

The voice is the only instrument that is located WITHIN us. It ebbs and flows with our bodies. So to me, its pretty simple, the better you treat yourself, the better your voice will perform. That being said, it’s easier said than done. living a healthy lifestyle seems to be one of the worlds biggest mysteries to some. When a guitar is out of tune, you just manipulat the strings. The same doesn’t apply for the voice and rehabbing an injury or getting over a sickness is a lengthly process. All this considered, If you are looking to utilize your voice to its best capability, I’d love to help make some healthy habits to make speaking and singing to your best ability automatic.

Education is power! the more you know the better. Take what I have learnt, along with other professionals in various areas of vocalization to build your knowledge and create healthy habits in vocal health. YOU know yourself better than anyone, so as information comes, hold on to what resonates, and let go of what doesn’t.
